Over the weekend, young people from the Children’s Participation Program at Hope and Homes for Children – Bulgaria visited young people with intellectual disabilities from the Parallel World Association in Plovdiv.
Two days of learning activities and debates raised interesting questions:
– How are children’s rights respected?
– What is needed for children with disabilities to be unconditionally accepted in society?
– Do we have the power to change the environment and the mindset of people in different settlements in Bulgaria?
Complex questions that require attention and focused efforts. The common language of communication is not accidental, but is the result of hard work on advocacy, which the youth have mastered. The interaction is best seen in the games and for this the most emotional was the game of basketball which showed skill, sportsmanship and respect.
We are already thinking of new initiatives and meetings
