Hope and homes for children – Bulgaria and CEZ in Bulgaria launched in May this year the campaign “Together we can do everything.”
A campaign to support vulnerable families with children to overcome the negative effects of the COVID -19 pandemic. As part of the campaign, CEZ took over the payment of electricity bills by the end of March 2021. This anti-crisis measure is applied to households from settlements in the districts of Vidin, Vratsa, Pleven, Sofia district and the city of Sofia.
In order for children to grow up in a better environment, new household appliances have already been delivered and installed in their homes. They will further reduce bills and ensure a long-term positive effect on family budgets.
We have joined forces with CEZ as partners to prove once again that the effectiveness of the implementation of socially responsible business practices in a crisis situation depends on their adequate and timely implementation.
CEZ employees in Bulgaria decided to surprise all 22 children for Christmas and New Year by conducting an internal charity event to raise funds for the purchase of Christmas gifts, food, clothing and shoes for children. BGN 14,500 were raised from voluntary donations, as the company doubled this amount and the total amount reached BGN 29,000. This exceeded even the bravest our expectations.
With these funds from the charity event of the employees we will be able to make happy with gifts 414 children from 199 families with whom Hope and homes for children – Bulgaria works in the districts – Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, Vidin, Vratsa, Kardzhali, Pleven, Stara Zagora, Sliven, Sofia region, Sofia city, Haskovo and Yambol.
