Hope and homes for children – Bulgaria organized the first of the year training of specialists, members of the District DI Coordination Mechanisms in Sofia city and Sofia district on 5 of March 2020. The event was hosted by the Regional Administration of Sofia district. The theme of the training was “Working with parents at risk of abandonment”. The trainers were the National consultants of Hope and homes for children – Bulgaria – Kremena Stoyanova and Elena Petkova. The experts shared their experience, practice, demonstrating the positives of Active family support model.
Emphasis was also placed on our organization’s experience in fieldwork and the effect of teamwork. Serious attention was also paid to community resources, their use, good coordination and partnership between all stakeholders.
A total of 26 professionals from Sofia City and Sofia District discussed the successes and challenges in the process of deinstitutionalisation and support of children and families at risk, through various role-playing games, case studies and practical work.
