Hope and homes for children – Bulgaria operates in unison with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Our vision is for every child to grow up in a family or close to family environment. Over the years, the eradication of institutional care for children from 0 to 3 years and the development of the competencies and abilities of families are gradually formed as a priority of the child protection authorities. The development of children’s potential and family competencies are the basis of success in the process of deinstitutionalisation.
Over the last year, the restrictions imposed on mobility, social contacts and distance learning have put us all to the test. Our team began looking for opportunities to support children’s learning by providing electronic devices to children from families in crisis and at risk of dropping out of school. It is the lack of computers in families and Family type placement centers that can lead to social exclusion.
Luxoft Bulgaria donated 15 computers at the beginning of February. This donation will reach children from families in crisis, family centers, as well as to increase the competencies of child protection authorities. We are extremely grateful to Luxoft Bulgaria for its support in overcoming deficits and social isolation of children at risk.
Our team works to assess the needs of children in families from 12 districts in Bulgaria so that the donation can lead to maximum results.
