Meeting of the Child Participation Program with Minister Kiril Ananiev

 

Today, April 15, 2019, children from the Children’s Participation Program of Hope and homes for children – Bulgaria met with the Minister of Health Mr. Kiril Ananiev. The twelve children from the 9-18 age group have expressed their views on eliminating institutional care and the need for every child to live in a family environment to be loved and protected. The children talked their work by presenting a story, handed out a letter that tells two real stories of two real children, as well as two posters through which they had painted their vision. The children also asked their questions to the Minister about why there are healthy children in the Home for medical and social care for children and when the remaining 13 Home for medical and social care for children will be closed. Mr. Ananiev expressed his impression of the children, as well as the importance of their cause, as well as stated that the Ministry has taken the path of closing down these institutions and turning back, and there is no significance to the activities of the Program for Child Participation for Inclusion of these children. The children thanked the Minister and said they would surely follow the process of closure of institutions. Mr. Kiril Ananiev received a folder presenting Hope and homes for children – Bulgaria – active family support and District DI Coordination Mechanism as well as the history of the organization.
