Round table on “Improving the interaction in the process of providing foster care as an alternative to institutionalization”

On 12.03.2019. a round table on “Improving the interaction in the process of providing foster care as an alternative to institutionalization” was held in Pleven.

 

The purpose of the Round Table was to look at the mechanisms of interaction and the opportunities for improving the coordination between all partners in the territory of Pleven District involved in the process of providing foster care as a measure of child protection in a family environment and social service provided in the community and its role in the process of deinstitutionalization and termination of placement of children in specialized institutions.

The current situation of foster care was presented by the District Foster Care Team. 28 people took part, representatives of Child Protection Departments, Social Assistance Directorates, specialists from Public Support Centers, who exchanged experience and working practices.

Actively participated in the round table foster families. Their participation was beneficial to all parties. The foster families from the Pleven region shared their experience and the difficulties they had experienced.
