The law is a responsibility

Hope and Homes for Children – Bulgaria  conducted a training “Children’s Rights – Information and Implementation” in the period 29.05-30.05.2021 in Bankya under the project “Right of participation and voice”, which is implemented with the financial support of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Financial Mechanism.

The aim of the training was to increase the knowledge of children and young people regarding their rights and their implementation. They skillfully used what they learned and showed us how to apply the content of the laws and how to explain them. They also made good options for better advocacy for children and young people at risk. During the training, everyone got acquainted with key legal documents in the country, and received materials on the topics of rights, children’s participation, advocacy and the European strategy for the child. The training combined topic theory and group work with practical cases. Children and young people had the opportunity to debate with each other, present their point of view and hear and get information from our experts. There was no lack of fun and creativity, which contributed to the mood and productivity. Finally, we promised to expand children’s participation in order to build successful contacts and advocacy.
