Тeam of “Hope and Homes for Children – Branch Bulgaria” conducted training for specialists working in the Family type placement center for children and youngsters with disabilities in the period f 19-21 June in the town of Stara Zagora.
The main objective of the training was an introduction to the IMPACT program – an effective and humane training program for coping with the problem behavior of children / young people / people with disabilities – innovative, multidisciplinary, personally focused, active, continuous and transformative. The IMPACT program aims to raise awareness of the special needs and behavior of children and young people and to develop approaches that help both the individual and the caregiver to achieve positive results for children and young people with special needs and to improve their quality of life. Key principles, methods and approaches for working with children / people with disabilities were presented, and ways to deal with the challenging behavior of residential users in residential services.
Experts were informed by theory and practical advices about the causes of their behavior and analysis tools (ABC – analysis and Scale of Durand) and concrete steps to prevent problem behavior in children and young people with disabilities.
The training was attended by specialists from Haskovo, Kotel, Dimitrovgrad, Chirpan, Sliven and Stara Zagora.
