On a sunny Sunday, October, the 23rd, 5 children from the Child Participation Program of Hope and Homes for Children – Bulgaria paid a visit to the children and youngsters from the “Hristo Botev” family-type placement center for children and youngsters with disabilities in Sofia. Each meeting of the children of the Program aims to help children build empathy, to show that we are all equal and how much we need freedom to express ourselves. Our program aims for the participants to become advocates for a fairer life in a harmonizing environment, and therefore every meeting is important.
Getting to know each other, telling stories about themselves and finding common means of expression, such as drawing, led to sharing feelings and excitement.
“Great! “It was great, we talked on many and various topics” – a child from the program
During the fun modeling with clay, everyone listened to music and worked together. The residents of the “Hristo Botev” family- type placement center smiled and wished to see the children from the Child Participation Program of Hope and Homes for Children – Bulgaria again. The mood and emotions were conveyed through the different colors the children used to draw their paintings. The important thing was that everyone participated, regardless of their disability, and the greyness of our days turned into an emotional palette.
“We gave them a good experience” – a child from the program
